Paid Time Off and Leave
As part of Inova's progressive approach to achieve the goal of making Inova the employer of choice, we have created benefits that provide flexibility to accommodate our employees' special and individual needs.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
You are given a bank of days each year that you can use any way you choose. Rather than providing separate days for vacation, holidays, personal days or sick time, you can choose from your pool of PTO hours to use for any approved leave. Employees who are budgeted to work 16 hours or more begin to accrue PTO hours on the first day of work.
Bereavement Leave
If you are a full-time employee, you are granted up to three days immediately following the death of an immediate family member to make arrangements and attend the funeral. If more time is required, you may use your PTO hours. Employees who are budgeted to work 16 to 35 hours are eligible for bereavement leave on a prorated basis.
Adoption Assistance
All employees budgeted at least 16 hours per week are eligible for this plan. Inova's adoption assistance plan reimburses eligible employees for qualified expenses related to the legal adoption of a child, provided the child is placed in the home while the employee is employed by Inova. Placement must occur on or after the employee's date of hire. The reimbursement amount is up to $7,500 per child for placement on the later of October 1, 2003 or, on or after the date of hire of the employee.
Education Assistance
Inova recognizes the importance of encouraging employee self-improvement through the pursuit of selected educational programs that will either enhance the employee's current job performance and/or prepare the employee for a specific and/or identifiable position in Inova.
