Pre-diabetes Program
Before developing type 2 diabetes, people often have pre-diabetes. Pre-diabetes occurs when blood glucose levels are elevated, but are not high enough to be considered diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes can be delayed and even prevented by practicing healthy behaviors. The Pre-diabetes Program will teach you how lifestyle changes such as increased physical activity and more healthful eating habits can make a difference in whether you develop type 2 diabetes.
Please check with your health care provider to see if this pre-diabetes education is appropriate for you. (The classes are not intended for individuals already diagnosed with diabetes.)
Pre-diabetes classes generally include two 2-hour sessions. You can register for classes online at Inova HealthSource or by calling 703-750-8800.
The Pre-diabetes Program does not require an order form from your physician or insurance authorization. You will pay your class fee at the time of registration.
