Affiliated Institutions

To continue its mission of utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach within multiple facilities, the Hospital maintains affiliation agreements with:

Loudoun Hospital Center, Leesburg, Virginia

This hospital, located in one of the fastest going counties in Northern Virginia, allows the residents opportunities for scrubbing on both podiatrist and orthopedic foot and ankle cases, with emphasis on reconstructive and trauma cases.

Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C.

Senior Residents function as chief resident in the Limb Salvage Center under the auspices of Dr. Christopher Attinger, a world renowned expert in plastic reconstructive surgery of the diabetic and vascular compromised foot. This highly intense rotation affords the resident the opportunity to manage patients with end stage deformities, both surgically and nonsurgically.

Fairfax Surgical Center, Fairfax, Virginia

Over 1400 foot and ankle cases are performed annually at this busy surgical center where over 10,000 procedures were performed last year. During the summer of 2004, the Center will move to new facility adjacent to its current location. The full gamut of foot and ankle surgery is performed at this center.

Kaiser Permanente Clinics and Surgical Center

Senior residents rotate through the foot clinic where they are assigned patients for treatment and evaluation under the auspices of staff podiatrists. They are able to follow their patients perioperatively on cases performed at the Kaiser Surgical Center or at Inova Fairfax Hospital, the Hospital utilized by Kaiser for its inpatient cases.

Fairfax Family Practice Center

This Center is home of the Fairfax Family Practice Residency Program. Podiatric residents rotate through this center for their clinical experience in behavioral science.

Office Facilities

Residents are assigned to multiple offices for exposure and familiarity in office procedures, as well as an opportunity to see follow-up on surgical cases
