Working in the Community
Inova Fairfax Hospital is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the United States - Northern Virginia. This area is home to much of the Internet industry and federal agencies, and is becoming more culturally diverse as large numbers of Central and South American, Asian and Middle Eastern population groups move into the area.
Inova Fairfax Hospital is a community teaching hospital with strong roots in the local area. As part of the teaching program, residents interact on a daily basis with private surgeons from the local area as well as full-time, hospital-based faculty. A mentorship program is an integral part of our residency. This integrates our residents into community-based practices where they work one on one in private surgeons' offices. We also help staff a clinic for patients referred to us from the county clinic system.
