Established in 1961, Inova Fairfax Hospital is a 753-bed regional medical center serving Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C., metro area. Included on the campus is the 153-bed Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, the only children's hospital serving critically ill children in Northern Virginia. Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children includes Northern Virginia's only Level 1 trauma center for treating the most critically injured patients, the nation's fifth busiest obstetrics program, a subspecialty level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is the region's only hospital to offer the full spectrum of organ transplantation, including heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and bone marrow.

We are pleased to expand our heart program to include the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, the region's first dedicated cardiac hospital. This 156-bed facility, scheduled to open in the fall of 2004, will have its own entrance, ambulance bay for patient transfers, operating rooms, catheterization and electrophysiology labs, outpatient clinics and diagnostic facilities, with the added benefit of having Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children just steps away.
