Driving and Traveling

Your Inova Physician will advise you on when you can drive again. If you are sitting in the car for extended travel during your recovery (your physician can give specific advice on travel), take frequent rest stops to walk, and drink fluids every 1 to 2 hours. This is especially true for cardiac surgery patients who may need to travel a distance to return home after discharge from the hospital.
