Dr. Martin Brown
Chief, Department of Emergency Medicine, Inova Alexandria Hospital
Dr. Brown was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and attended medical school at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his residency and served as Chief Resident at The George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Brown enjoys movies and college basketball when not at work.
Dr. Thomas Clark
Associate Chief, Department of Emergency Medicine, Inova Alexandria Hospital
Dr. Clark has lived in Northern Virginia for many years. He attended medical school at The George Washington University and was a resident at Ohio State University Hospital, Washington Veterans Administration Hospital and George Washington University Hospital. He enjoys running, cycling and kayaking in his free time.
Dr. Lydia Haile
Director, Department of Emergency Medicine Quality Improvement Committee, Inova Alexandria Hospital
Dr. Haile grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She attended medical school and completed her residency at the University of Illinois. When away from work, Dr. Haile enjoys reading and traveling.
Dr. Kathleen Kelly
Director, Emergency Department Pediatrics, Inova Alexandria Hospital
Dr. Kelly grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and went to The Medical School of Pennsylvania, where she also completed her residency. During her time off, she enjoys listening to music as well as biking, swimming and sewing.
Dr. James Vafier
Director, Emergency Department Education, Inova Alexandria Hospital
In addition to being one of our ER physicians, Dr. Vafier is medical director for Alexandria Fire and EMS. He attended Georgetown University for medical school and Bethesda Naval Hospital for his residency, and enjoys golf and classical music when not at work.
Michael Mortiere, P.A.-C
Director, Emergency Department Physician Assistant Program, Inova Alexandria Hospital
Mike, who grew up in Michigan, attended George Washington University's Physician Assistant program. He enjoys woodworking, biking, fishing and camping in his free time.
