Emergency Department
As a 911-receiving center, we are here when you need us. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our emergency department is equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies from heart attacks and strokes to broken bones and bee stings.
Inova Fair Oaks Hospital offers a full service Level 2 Emergency Department
(ED) staffed 24/7 with board certified or board eligible physicians. A Level 2
emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day and has the ability to care for
and stabilize all emergencies with the exception of major trauma cases. Major
trauma cases are diverted to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
As a 911-receiving center, we are here when minutes count. We treat acute heart
attacks and strokes to minor car accidents. Currently, we offer our emergency
patients 12 private rooms and 2 non-private rooms, for a total of 14 beds. In
addition, we have a 5 room ambulatory care center open 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week that is staffed with a Physician Assistant to care for minor illnesses
and injuries from bee stings to broken bones.
In early 2005, we are looking forward to opening our brand new Emergency Department. Renovations are underway now. Our new ED will have a total of 34 private rooms, 7 of which will be our "Fast Track" rooms where we care for minor illnesses.
