About Rebuild
General Information
The mission of REBUILD is first to provide a supportive network for
individuals
who share the experiences and consequences associated with
traumatic injury. Second,
REBUILD seeks to empower these individuals to
use their experiences positively
by providing support to newly
hospitalized patients, and by educating trauma caregivers
about their
vital role in the healing process.

The program offers support groups for recovering patients and family members, and REBUILD members are able to participate in the variety of activities scheduled to support the recovery of the patient and development of medical personnel. All aspects of the program are free to participants, coordinated by a licensed clinical social worker, and guided by an advisory board of physicians, trauma department staff and REBUILD members.
Support for the program is provided by Inova Fairfax Hospital and the Inova Regional Trauma Center; funding is provided by a gift from the Bank of America, and a grant from the Centers For Disease Control.
