My first REBUILD meeting gave me what I needed- someone to say, "I know how you feel." It gave me a group of people who did understand what I was feeling and allowed me to understand it myself. It made me feel normal again. I came to REBUILD because I needed help. What has kept me coming is that I have learned that the greatest gift I can give myself is to give to someone else. REBUILD has helped me grow as a person and overcome the most difficult thing in my life that I have ever faced. REBUILD has taught me a lot about what is really important and meaningful in my life. REBUILD has allowed me to take the worst thing that has ever happened to me and find that silver lining. - Gina
Because of my participation in REBUILD, I have new energetic goals and have an even stronger need to help others than I had before the accident. - Janet
For me, visiting new trauma patients is very rewarding, as well as therapeutic. The conversation that we share forms a common bond - we are two people who have been tragically and traumatically injured. For them to hear what I have been through, then to see me standing, walking, smiling and sitting at their bedside is giving them encouragement and hope. - Sue
When you take the opportunity to help recent or long-standing trauma victims through your own experience and association with the REBUILD group, it better equips you to meet the challenges life has, or will serve up to you. - Harry
