Inova Fairfax Hospital Auxiliary
The Inova Fairfax Hospital Auxiliary is the largest corps of volunteers serving the hospital. First organized in 1956, while the hospital was still in the planning stages, interested citizens worked together to raise funds to help make the hospital a reality.
When you join the Auxiliary today, you are joining an organization of about 1,200 volunteer members whose mission is to provide quality volunteer services, support and financial resources to the hospital, its patients and the community. We have many volunteer opportunities that may interest you.
Among the many successful results of our volunteers' fundraising efforts was a $3 million contribution to help build the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, a 156-bed state-of-the-art cardiac facility that opened in 2004. Our volunteers also contributed $1 million each to the Inova Fairfax Hospital Women's and Children's Center and the Physician's Conference Center.
In addition, the Auxiliary encourages the pursuit of healthcare careers to students by offering annual scholarships to eligible applicants.
