Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) therapy is a safe medical treatment in which 100 percent oxygen is breathed by a patient at higher than normal atmospheric pressures for short periods of time in a pressurized chamber.
HBO therapy has been used with victims of carbon monoxide poisoning or scuba divers suffering from the bends. It is also used to help some wounds heal faster. It treats any condition requiring increased oxygen flow to body tissue.
