Inova Fairfax Hospital Observes National Ranking as Top 50 Hospital

Falls Church, VA— Inova Fairfax Hospital has been named one of “America’s 50 Best Hospitals” for 2008 by HealthGrades®, an independent healthcare ratings organization. On July 11, HealthGrades will formally present the award to administration and staff at Inova Fairfax Hospital, the only hospital in the Washington, DC/Baltimore region ranked in the top 50. This designation is the healthcare industry’s only quality ranking based exclusively on clinical outcomes among U.S. hospitals.
          
    To identify America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2008, HealthGrades’ researchers analyzed about 100 million hospitalization records from nearly 5,000 hospitals from 1999 to 2006. The hospitals must have demonstrated clinical outcomes among the top five percent in the nation and must have maintained this superior level of care during all years studied.
