History

Our program began in 1989 when we performed the first autologous bone marrow transplant in the area. Drs. Roy Beveridge and Gregory Orloff are the Medical Co-directors of the program. Dr. Beveridge began the program in 1989, and Dr. Orloff joined the program in 1995.

Other highlights of our program include:

  • More than 600 bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplants have been performed to date from a range of diseases including:

    • Leukemia
    • Hodgkin’s disease
    • Non-Hodgkin’s disease
    • Multiple Myeloma

  • First allogeneic transplant 1995

  • First Matched Unrelated Transplant 2003

  • NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program):

    • Collection site 1998
    • Transplant site 2002

  • Outpatient transplant clinic opened in 2000

  • FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) Accreditation for the autologous program since 2000

    • Clincal program
    • Stem Cell processing program
    • Stem Cell collection program
