Out-of-Town Patients
Because many of our patients come from outside the Washington, DC, area, a few apartments are available for the families of transplant recipients on a first come, first served basis. The program's social worker can coordinate arrangements for staying at an apartment. Several local hotels, some with free shuttle service to the hospital, provide special rates for family members and friends. We understand how important loved ones are in the recovery process, and we make every effort to include them in each step of the process.
