Paid Time Off and Leave
Inova understands the importance of flexibility and work/life balance and has a progressive approach to accommodate our employees' individual needs.
Paid time off (PTO)
Inova employees receive a bank of days each year
for use as you wish. Rather than designating separate days for vacation, holidays,
personal days or sick time, Inova offers you a pool of PTO hours to use for
any approved leave. Employees who are budgeted to work 16 hours or more begin
to accrue PTO hours on the first day of work.
Adoption assistance
All employees budgeted at least 16 hours per week are eligible for this benefit.
Inova's adoption assistance plan reimburses eligible employees for qualified
expenses related to the legal adoption of a child, provided the child is placed
in the home while the employee is employed by Inova. Placement must occur on
or after the employee's date of hire. The reimbursement amount is up to $7,500
per child for placement.
Education assistance
Inova recognizes the importance of encouraging employee self-improvement through
educational programs that will enhance your current job performance and/or prepare
you for a specific and/or identifiable position in Inova. The maximum assistance
for approved educational expenses is $3,000 per year.
Bereavement leave
Full-time employees can take up to three days of leave directly after the death
of an immediate family member to make arrangements and attend the funeral. If
more time is required, PTO hours may be used. Employees who are budgeted to
work 16 to 35 hours are eligible for bereavement leave on a prorated basis.
