Frequently Asked Questions
Will my employer have access to my medical
records?
No. All of your medical information is kept strictly
confidential and will never be shared with your employer.
Can I share the results of my screening/exam with my
primary care
physician?
Yes. You will receive a comprehensive summary of the
results of your health screening and exam. You are encouraged by Inova to share
this information with your physician. Inova can also send your primary physician
a copy of your records upon request.
How frequently can I receive a health screening/exam under this
benefit?
You may receive one screening/exam per calendar year.
Where does the examination take place?
All medical
services and testing are performed at Inova Heart and Vascular Institute at
Inova Fairfax Hospital. The Institute is convenient to I-495, located just off
the Gallows Road exit. U.S. News & World Report has
consistently ranked
Inova Fairfax Hospital as one of the country's top 50 hospitals. More than
1,000
area doctors who were surveyed in Washingtonian magazine recently
ranked Inova Fairfax Hospital as the place they'd want to go if they
were having a stroke or
if a family member was giving birth.
What physicians will I see as part of the executive screening
program?
Inova Executive Health Center is led by Craig Cheifetz,
MD, co-section chief, general internal medicine, Department of Medicine, and
Madeline Erario, MD, internal medicine, Inova Fairfax Hospital. The Virginia
Chapter of the American College of Physicians recently voted Dr. Cheifetz
"Young Internist of the Year." Dr. Cheifetz serves as the assistant dean of Virginia
Commonwealth University School of Medicine, located on the Inova Fairfax
Hospital campus. Dr. Erario is the director, Graduate and Continuing Medical
Education, at Inova Fairfax Hospital. As part of the program, you will also
interact with a board-certified cardiologist and other physician specialties
recommended for your examination.
How much time will a health screening require?
Each
appointment will be different based on the recommendations of the physician
performing the screening. You should plan on spending approximately 4-5 hours at
the appointment. All medical testing and services will take place at Inova
Heart and Vascular Institute.
When will I receive my results?
80% of your results will
be available on the same day of your appointment. However, it is highly
recommended that a follow-up one-on-one consultation be scheduled to discuss
your overall exam results, action plans and goals.
If my employer is interested in learning more or adding as a
benefit
for my executives, who should I contact?
Contact Chris Hayes at
703-321-2650.
How do I make an appointment? How soon are appointments
available?
Call Maggie Hayford, RN, Inova medical concierge, at
703-776-7005 to schedule. Appointments will typically be available within 2-5
weeks.
Is there a cost for me to participate in the Executive Health
Screening program?
If your employer pays for the cost of your health
screening, they will be sent an invoice. You will not receive any bills from
Inova for services administered. If your employer does not pay for the exam,
payment can be made by credit card at the time of service.
"You all went beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional service. . . thank you personally for the care and time that each of you took to kick my butt back into shape. My family and I appreciate your concern."
