Inova Occupational Health Center—Dulles
South, Chantilly
Akila Iyer, MD, serves as interim medical director for Inova's
Occupational Health programs and is the medical director
of Inova Urgent Care—Dulles South.
Dr. Iyer began her career with Inova Health System in 2004 and brings intensive medical training gained both nationally and internationally. She completed medical school and two years of pediatric residency in Mumbai, India, before moving to the United States. Her U.S. clinical training includes a family medicine internship at the prestigious Cook County Hospital of "ER fame" and family medicine residency at the combined Cook County-Provident Hospital-Loyola University program. Her training prepared her to understand healthcare needs from academic, county and community perspectives.
Since 1998, Vasudha Joshi, MD, has served
as the medical director of Inova Urgent Care Center in
Vienna and also shares her time and medical expertise
with Inova Occupational Health centers throughout
the Inova network, including the Reinneker's Lane office,
Inova Alexandria Hospital and the Dulles South
Occupational Health Center.
Dr. Joshi has extensive experience and knowledge working with numerous county agencies and private companies in Northern Virginia. She is very familiar with requirements of these numerous companies and is excellent in communicating with her patients and their employers. Her experience includes physical exams for firefighters as well as police and sheriff's departments and other environmental agencies that do HAZMAT work. In addition, she provides care to injured workers as well as fitness for duty examinations.
Hai Jin Kim, MD, joins Inova Occupational
Health after practicing
family medicine in the community for nine years.
She attended Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA, and
completed her Medical College of Virginia-affiliated residency
program with Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA.
She has found that many area employees utilize the Occupational Health Center as their primary care provider. Accordingly, Dr. Kim shares with her clients her insights on prevention through nutrition and other wellness topics.
Lubna Zahir, MD, became a member
of the Inova team in 2003. An experienced internist, she has worked
in both hospital based and community centered practices in several states
including Connecticut, New York, Tennessee, Maryland and Virginia.
After completing her medical school and residency in Mumbai,
India, she gained additional clinical and academic training at the respected
Manhattan-based St Vincent's Catholic Medical Center.
Dr Zahir divides her time between Inova Occupational Health—Dulles South and the Employee Occupational Health Services at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She brings her clinical expertise and empathetic demeanor to the bedside where she believes in promoting health through education.

HealthPlex—Springfield/Alexandria
Richard S. Samuel, MD, formerly the medical director of
Inova Springfield Urgent Care Center, has been the director
and attending physician of the Occupational Health Center at
HealthPlex since it opened in 2001.
Dr. Samuel has practiced occupational and environmental medicine in Northern Virginia for over thirteen years. He is well known by the county agencies and other businesses for his in-depth knowledge in the field as well as his communication skills and the expert care he provides to their injured employees.

Dale R. Tidaback, MD, MPH, recently joined our
team of occupational health physicians and brings 21 years of
experience delivering the full spectrum of occupational
health services. Over the course of his career, he has
developed occupational, environmental, aerospace and
public health programs for organizations large and small
and is familiar with all manner of hazardous exposure.
